WineFlights took me to “Sara the Wine Bar” in Culver City. This local spot is the perfect solution for a quick place to meet some friends after work or for pre-dinner drinks.
Vibe: On a Saturday evening the crowd was small, but grew with time. There was music playing next door at the adjoining Café Cirroc, which only made my table outside the best choice. The servers are the owners (Sara & Cirroc), which gives you an at home feel, making this place a “Cheers” for the wine drinker.
Vino: Sara’s lets you pick the wine for your flight. I chose an all red flight of a Chianti, Malbec, and Pinot Noir. On my adventure scale; the wine was okay. I enjoy a new experience with my flights. The wine was this good, but more of what I’ve had before.
Allowing you to pick your own wine works when you know what you looking for. For my new Vino-ista’s it would have been great to have pre-selected flights to choose from and description about each wine.
Vittles: The menu at Sara’s was simple with variety. I decided the Spicy Meatball Panini and cheese plate with my vino and let me tell you, it was delish. You could taste its freshness, giving it a homemade feel. It’s a must try!
Valet: There wasn’t a valet, but there were a few spots in the lot and street parking.
Value: The pricing for the wine/food seem to be on par with wine bars, but would definite take advantage of their happy hour menu.
Vote: Overall I will visit this bar again with friends for those meatballs, close location and vibe. Vino-ista’s pull up a glass and visit Sara’s The Wine Bar.
