Posh Polo Pouring is the only way to describe this week’s Winescapade. This VineLife adventure was sponsored by French champagne producer Veuve Clicquot and it was a delight.
I know your thinking Polo… REALLY? But this is an event you have to experience at least once!
Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is an annual event held at Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, CA. The event producers know what they’re doing. As a 10 year veteran in event production, I have never been to such a well-organized and user-friendly event at this scale.
Guests dressed in array of summer dresses, blazers and hats are shuttled in from nearby schools and as soon as you hit the park yellow banners and umbrellas provided shade and plenty of fan fare. The weather was perfect and the reason we all live in Los Angeles was clear, with sunny skies and breezes to match.
The well branded park, directed you to everything you needed to have a wonderful afternoon. Seating was picnic style and abundant. The menu featured LA’s best food trucks and of course the champagne was Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut and Rose’.
My partners-in-wine and I selected the Rose’ as our beverage of choice and it didn’t disappoint. It was cool, crisp, full of flavor with a tad sweeter finish than its brut counterpart.
With food and filled glasses the match commenced. Being a first time spectator of Polo I can’t tell you much about the actual game, but I can tell you it was interesting and action packed. The events co-host and celebrity polo player Nacho Figueras was the star of the afternoon and leader of the winning team.
Overall this event was everything a Vino-ista could hope for. Good food, great company and something to Sip, makes this afternoon not to be missed!!!
