Lake Chelan Wine Valley – Heaven with Lakes and Wine

Visiting this region last year was an experience not to be forgotten.  Which is why I’m excited to share information about the region and two events taking place this spring that you shouldn’t miss!

Lake Chelan Wine Valley is a  thriving community of 20 wineries that are attracting attention wine enthusiasts everywhere. The Valley was recognized as an AVA in the Federal Register in April 2009. Located in the heart of Washington’s Cascade Mountains, Lake Chelan is a scenic destination three hours east of Seattle, situated on a pristine 55-mile lake. Throughout the year, Lake Chelan visitors tour vineyards, meet the winemakers, taste award-winning wines and dine at many winery restaurants – the perfect wine-lovers destination. Some of the varieties that flourish in the Valley include Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Viognier.


The Lake Chelan Wine Valley in Washington, will celebrate spring with two major events:

  • Chelan Nouveau takes place over two weekends, April 19-20 and 26-27, and gives visitors a chance to taste and take home the first release of new vintages.

    • Participating Vineyards with new releases include; Atam Winery, Cairdeas Winery, Chelan Estate Winery, Chelan Ridge Winery, C.R. Sandidge, Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards, Lake Chelan Winery, Tildio Winer, Tsillan Cellars, Wapato Point Cellars and WineGirl Wines. For a full list and more details, visit
  • Spring Barrel Tasting will be held on May 17 and 18. This annual event offers visitors the chance to taste and learn how the use of oak plays a significant role in wine making. Guests will explore the use of different oak treatments and their impact on the taste, color, tannin and texture of the wine. Guests can visit winery cellar rooms for exclusive tastings with local winemakers and purchase upcoming vintages of some of their favorite wines.100.spring barrel.440
